Meet Kenneth Wong, D.D.S.

Hello and welcome to King Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Center. My name is Dr. Kenneth Wong and I would like to introduce you to our state-of-the-art surgery center. My team and I want you to feel comfortable during your consultation appointment, during surgical treatment and post-operatively. Feel free to ask questions in regards to your examination and treatment as well as to ask about alternatives to treatment. My goal is to educate you and your family about all aspects of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Why “King” Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Center?

Many people wonder if I named my practice after the NBA basketball team the “Sacramento Kings.” However the name “King” comes from a restaurant in West Sacramento, “King’s Chinese Restaurant.” My father, Chew H. Lam came to the United States and started this restaurant in 1969. My family continues to own and run King’s Chinese Restaurant. I named my practice “King” after my father’s restaurant as a tribute to his hard work and success at achieving his dream. I hope to continue with his good fortune in my business, King Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Center.

About myself

I was born and raised in West Sacramento. I graduated from the University of California at Davis with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Development in 1994. In 2000, I graduated with honors from University of Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. I then completed a one year General Practice Residency at the Northern California Veterans Administration at Mare Island in Vallejo, California in 2001. Subsequently, I completed my Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Highland General Hospital/Alameda County Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center in 2005. I joined the Maxillofacial Surgery Staff at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland after graduation. Before opening King Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, I worked part time at Kaiser Permanente in South Sacramento and in private practice in Rocklin, California. In 2007, I became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

I married my college sweetheart and we have three beautiful children. I enjoy spending time with my family, snow skiing in Lake Tahoe, bicycling, racing in triathlons and cooking.

Currently I teach oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Northern California Veterans Administration at Mare Island in Vallejo, California and I am volunteer faculty at Highland General Hospital/Alameda County Medical Center in Oakland, California.
